Petraeus for President?

Well, apparently it's not just me and Dennis Miller hoping for a Petraeus presidency.

Now the Daily Telegraph is openly calling for Petraeus to run:
"Run General, Run!"
Where better to look for Obama's successor, therefore, than in the uniformed ranks? Not since 1952, when a certain Dwight Eisenhower, Supreme Commander of Allied Forces in Europe during the Second World War, was elected President, have the chances of a military man winning the White House been more propitious.
Indeed.  Hot Air has more on this story.

For the record, Ike was very, very reluctant to run in 1952.  As I wrote about last year, there was a very intense campaign to recruit Ike and it took quite a while before he relented and gave in.  Could it happen again?  We shall see...
